When Nick Cannon is not on the stage hosting America’s Got Talent. The man has other gigs and commitments to honor. Nick was given a stand-up comedy special with Showtime titled Stand Up, Don’t Shoot. By the title alone anyone can tell that this special will probably filled with racially charged jokes. It looks like the NBC Execs were not laughing. Jokes like …………
“I honestly believe, once I started doing ‘America’s Got Talent,’ they took my real n****r card. They did! Because then, like, these type of people started showing up to my shows. “I can’t do the real n*****r stuff no more, because then they’ll put me on TMZ.”
were not taken lightly. Nick was under major scrutiny at NBC and was threatened to be fired. Nick does not like to be threatened and has since decided not t return to NBC’s America’s Got Talent.
Well I get standing up for your rights, but I am totally shocked that Nick even had that kind of material breeding under his good guy persona. This guy is a mogul. He will be alright.

During the BET Awards Grey’s Anatomy actor Jessie Williams accepted the Humanitarian Award. While doing so he rocked the world with his powerful speech on Police Brutality. He used words like “Whiteness” while the camera panned to his interracial parents. Many were moved after the speech , but some are calling foul. Grey’s Anatomy fan Erin Smith started a petition to have Jessie Williams fired. Smith believes that Jessie speech was a slap in the face to Caucasians and police. She thinks Jessie is dividing is, instead of bring everyone together. Well creator of Grey’s Anatomy Shonda Rhimes does not agree. Check out her tweet.

Great news everybody! CNN commentator Marc Lamont Hill has just been tapped to host a late night talk show for VH1. The show will be called VH1 LIVE. The talk show will air weekly. It will touch on all the latest entertainment and pop culture news. VH1 Live premieres on Sunday, July 17th at 10pm. When I was a kid the only show on VH1 was pop-up video. I am loving the way this network has evolved. There were a few shows that we could do without, but nonetheless it looks like VH1 is starting to realize who their main stream audience is. I am looking forward to seeing what other projects they are working on. Way to go VH1.
There is a pretty credible rumor going around that the entire cast of Love and Hip Hop Atlanta has been fired. Allegedly during the taping of the Season 5 Reunion most of the cast found themselves fighting on the stage. Allegedly VH1 is sick of the drama and they have informed the entire cast that their services will no longer be needed. The firing allegedly also includes K.Michelle, Mimi, Joseline and Stevie.
Will we really miss this show though?
