WHO COULD FILL THOSE SHOES: YAYA DACOSTA WILL PLAY WHITNEY HOUSTON

Model and actress Yaya Dacosta has been given the role of Whitney Houston, the Lifetime movie Whitney Houston Biopic. We were first introduced to this lovely lady on the hit Modeling reality show America’s Next Top Model.

Angela Bassett will direct the Whitney movie. Although Houston’s family has been very critical about the movie. The production is still moving along. The family wants to know why Whitney’s movie will not be in the movie theaters, they think Lifetime is too  small of a platform for such a production.

Whitney’s daughter Bobby Christina thinks no one should play her mother but her. Bobby Christina playing Whitney Houston would not work. One she is not an actress, two the media will be way too critical and harsh to her, if she doesn’t do well. I believe Bobby Christina should assist with the production, but behind the scenes. It may be very therapeutic for her. It’s obvious she misses her mother dearly and needs some help in her grieving process.

I can’t wait to see this movie.

  1. Omg! Yaya is a great pick for the Whitney Houston documentary. I believe that she will do a great job. I disagree with the family though, Life Time is a good network for the movie, but is should be produced and premiere on OWN; Oprah missed the boat on this one.

    • Oprah did miss the boat, but i don’t think she even cares. Her network Own has not done a biopic yet and Im not sure if it is in there plans. If OWN did take that leap to produce a biopic I believe Maya Angelou would be the first person they would attempt to honor first.
