Word on the street is that the Queen of ABC Shonda Rhimes just might have another show up her sleeves. Her obsession with the secret society B613 may turn into a TV show.
During an interview with the Hollywood Reporter Shonda told her interviewer “I have like three versions of a B613 spinoff in my head that I obsess about constantly”
B613 plays a major role in Scandal. Everything clearly revolves around this organization. What will this show be like? Would Papa Pope be the lead actor? If so will he have a love interest that’s just as crazy as he is? How many more lives will B613 take? OMG I HAVE SO MANY QUESTIONS! THIS CAN’T BE GOOD FOR MY HEALTH.
If this actually happens I don’t think I can take it. I am still recovering from Shonda’s TGIT.
So on the morning of January 17, 2015, I set my DVR to record Lifetime’s Whitney. Ijust had to see it and I planned on watching it, but I wanted to record it just in case my 3 year old son decided to have a temper tantrum during the movie I could watch it later. I took the whole day to get myself together so I could see this Angela Bassett directed movie. I just knew it was going to be good girl. I mean Angela Bassett was running this production. She knows way more about making a movie than Wendy Williams does. So the time came for the movie to come on and I sat with my cup of coffee and I watched and watched and damn it I watched some more. Then the movie ended and I wanted to see more. It was that good that I didn’t want it to end.
A little part of me felt super bad that I thought the movie was great, because this was Whitney Houston’s life. I was sitting their enjoying the re-enactments of Whitney and Bobby‘s life. The Whitney movie was filled with love, betrayal, sex, drugs and rock and roll and I loved it. What the hell is wrong with me? Angela Bassett had lots of pressure on her to deliver a great product for many reasons. Some of them being that Lifetime needed a great biopic since Wendy Williams screwed up the Aaliyah movie, also this is Angela’s directorial debut (the Yale graduate would have not been forgiven if she messed this one up), then their the Houston family who did not approve of this production. Angela called Whitney her friend and I believe all that I saw in this movie, because these are things that happened that only a friend would tell another friend.
I enjoyed this movie. The only changes that I would have made would be the title of the movie. I would have called it Whitney and Bobby: A Love Story.
Did you like the movie?
The TV God have spoken and they are giving us more more more of what we like.
FOX has already renewed Gotham, Brooklyn Nine-Nine and Empire.
Gotham is on my to-do list to watch. I have t make sure my three year old is away with grandma so I can binge watch this one. Congrats on the renewal.
Sorry folks I have not watched Brooklyn Nine-Nine yet, but when I do I will definitely give my opinion on the show. But congrats to the cast and crew members on staying in production.
After only airing 2 episodes Empire has become a hit for FOX and they would be fools not to continue producing this gold mine. Terrence Howard and Taraji P. Henson back together again, this show is like Hustle and Flow revamped. Their are many story lines to follow, but they are all so worth it. Empire is juicy, gets your glasses ready and Go Sip on That. I love this show.
Good JOb FOX now all you need to do is bring back Gang Related and you will become my favorite channel to watch.
Will it be a sister sister? The Real talk show host Tamaera Mowry Housely announced on Instagram that she and her husband Adam are expecting their second child. Congrats are in order.
The female hip hop group Salt and Pepa including Spinderella have teamed up with Geico for their new commercial. Singing their song Push It. This is huge for the hip hop legends this commercial put Salt and Pepa back on the map, while the commercial is in rotation. What a way to end the year. I hope to see more of these ladies in 2015, Remember the reality show they had on VH1, they should really bring that show back. I loved it.
Happy Thanksgiving‘s Day to you all. While many of you are thankful for family, being employed or just to freaking be alive, I however think their are some TV shows we should be thankful for as well. Shoot if it wasn’t for our favorite TV program, what the hell would we really be doing at 10 pm on a Thursday night. So everyone please grab your remote controls and raise them in the air in solidarity to thank TELEVISION FOR BEING APART OF OUR LIVES.
After all of the hoopla over the On The Run Special airing on HBO, a lot of you didn’t even watch it. I must admit, I did not watch the special either. Only because I switched my HBO for Showtime so I can catch up on my Californication . I was not going to pay for 2 premium channels. Sorry honey I don’t get paid to blog. I blog because I love talking about TV. Enough about me, lets get back to Jay and Bey. Also I saw most of the tour on Youtube in bits and pieces. The power couple should not panic. Their empire is still strong. Let this be a lesson to the both of them, they just are not going to turn everything they touch to gold. Better luck next time.
